2 drug suspects slain; 4 arrested in Luzon
MANILA, Philippines - Two drug suspects were killed in separate incidents in Isabela and Cavite on Friday, while four others were arrested in the Bicol region yesterday.
William Michael Fabian, 37, was in a tricycle with his wife when an unidentified assailant shot him in Barangay Mabini, Santiago City, according to city police chief Senior Superintendent Percival Rumbaoa.
Fabian died at the scene from several gunshot wounds in the body.
Rumbaoa said Fabian was among residents included on the police drug list for failing to respond to Oplan Tokhang last year.
Records showed that Fabian was caught at a police checkpoint last year for alleged possession of shabu.
In Cavite, Norberto Pulot reportedly engaged police officers in a shootout following a sting in Barangay Amuyong, Alfonso town.
Pulot, whom local police said was on their drug list, was declared dead on arrival at the Dr. Poblete Hospital.
Meanwhile, Ismael Barrenechea was arrested in a sting in Barangay Buenavista, Irosin, Sorsogon.
The suspect reportedly yielded six plastic sachets said to contain shabu and marked money.
In Camarines Norte, police arrested Antonio Obog following a search of his home in Barangay Palanas, Paracale town.
The raiding team reportedly recovered three plastic sachets said to contain shabu and drug paraphernalia from the suspect’s residence.
Meanwhile, Francis Anthony Abinal and Reymark Aguilar reportedly yielded an undetermined amount of shabu, a revolver and drug paraphernalia during a sting in Goa, Camarines Sur. – Raymund Catindig, Ed Amoroso, Francis Elevado, Celso Amo
