Myers perfect fit for Gilas as Reyes stresses preference for non-dominant import
TAIPEI – Mike Myers is not the kind of import that can dominate or take over the game as most of the PBA imports do.
But he can complement a team with his defense and rebounding, and that’s perfectly fine for the Gilas cadet team.
“He’s fit as we really don’t want an import that will dominate the game. We want our guys to run our system,” said Gilas assistant coach Josh Reyes.
“At the same time, we don’t want to send our young cadets sent here by themselves. Ayaw naman natin madehado,” Reyes also said.
Myers, a standby import by TNT KaTropa in the recent PBA Commissioner’s Cup, has been playing his role to the hilt here, just providing Gilas the inside presence and letting the cadets take most of the scoring cudgels.
